Do What You Love. Love What You Do.

Every day when my 15-year-old son walks through the door after school, he asks us the same question:

“Did you or Dad work on anything fun today?”

At first glance, it’s a simple after-school check-in. But over time, I’ve realized it’s much more than small talk. He’s not just asking whether we stayed busy at the office…he’s asking if our work is meaningful. He wants to know if we love what we do.

That daily question has become a quiet reminder of the responsibility we carry, not just as a business owner, but as a parent. My son is watching, learning, and taking notes on what it looks like to balance ambition with joy, and hard work with passion.

Work as a Living Lesson

For me, work has never been just about checking boxes or keeping the lights on. It’s about creating something that matters. Something that helps clients grow, tells their stories, and strengthens the communities we live in.

At Prime Time, every campaign, every video shoot, every late-night brainstorming session is more than “work.” It’s an opportunity to prove to my son (and to myself) that passion and purpose can live side by side. That you can pour your energy into a career you love without losing sight of what matters most at home.

When my son asks that question, he’s also reminding me that my work ethic is a guide for him. If he sees me building something meaningful, showing up for clients, and still making room for family, then he knows that success isn’t about choosing one over the other. It’s about finding the balance.

Fun Is Serious Business

Yes, running an agency comes with challenges: tight deadlines, shifting budgets, endless to-do lists. But there’s also incredible joy in what we do. When we bring a client’s vision to life or see their business grow because of a campaign we designed, that’s fun. When we get to tell stories that celebrate community, honor veterans, or showcase local businesses, that’s fun too.

It’s the kind of fun that fuels us to keep going… the fun that turns “work” into something bigger. And it’s the kind of fun that I want my son to see is possible when you align your passion with your purpose.

Leaving a Legacy Beyond the Office

At the end of the day, success for me isn’t measured only by the campaigns we launch or the clients we serve. It’s measured in the example I set at home.

If my son grows up believing that hard work doesn’t have to mean drudgery, that it can be meaningful, joyful, and yes, even fun… then I’ve done my job twice over: once as a business owner, and once as a mom.

That’s what Prime Time is about. Building strategies that help businesses thrive, while showing the next generation that when you do what you love, and love what you do, you don’t just build a career… you build a life worth living.
